18 Days...

Anyway... I had Christmas with my Dad, his mom, and his GF today. We had Pizza Hut and opened presents. I got 2 Tinkerbell figurines, a magazine subscription, and a hat and glove set from my grandma & $50 from my dad. Then, I went over to my other grandma's and we played SkipBo with a family friend visiting from Crandall! She gave me a purse, a billfold, a purse hanger, and a compact mirror.

One more day till I have to go back to that dang old hospital and bust my hump, but at least it's a weird week with a holiday in between. But, then again, I am ONCALL for the weekend coming up too!!

I will always have my blog though! :)

News about postcrossing

No, I haven't stopped doing it, I just hadn't gotten any new postcards in awhile... but I just got an influx after being on call and not checking my mail for a while. I will post them as soon as I get a chance!

If I do not succeed, the next blog post I write might be from a hospital room. I plan on hanging Christmas lights outside this afternoon. I better get started or it will be too dark to do it! Wish me luck!

What A Post!

That last blog post was HUGE!!! I am at work right now on lunch break. I think it's actually over but... oh well! :) We had corndogs and onion rings today! So much for losing weight I guess. I didn't get called in last night on call. I will probably have to stay here late today, we have a rather large case starting in about an hour, and it is sure to last three or more hours. BLEH!!

Oh Dear...

I guess I have dissappointed. I don't remember the last time I posted, but I will be sure to check after I post this blog today.

I am on call tonight, I was on call Monday night, and I'm on call the 24th and the 25th. That's right, Christmas Eve and Christmas day. I hope we do not have to work the day after Christmas, so I can go to 1500 different WalMart's with my mom! (1500 is an exaggeration... it's more like 50)

We had our Surgery Dept. Christmas party today and I made six dozen "Chipotle Chicken Cornbread Cups", a recipe from The Pampered Chef's Season's Best Fall/Winter '08 $1 cookbook. It is the first recipe in the book. Everyone loved them, or at least they said they loved them. The cornbread cups had Jiffy corn muffin mix, cheddar cheese, sour cream, flour, and The Pampered Chef's Chipotle Rub/Seasoning. The chipotle chicken mixture included diced chicken, red bell peppers, green onions, sour cream, and The Pampered Chef's Chipotle Rub/Seasoning.

I used the Mini-Muffin Pan and the Tart Shaper, the Classic Batter Bowl, the Stainless Mixing Bowl, Grooved Cutting Board, a Prep Bowl, 5" Santoku, Tomato Knife, Adjustable Measuring Spoon, 10" Stainless Skillet, Bamboo Spatula, and the Master Scraper... to name a few items!

To make so many, it worked out easier to make the chicken mixture in bulk. The recipe only calls for an 8" Saute Pan to cook the bell pepper and to brown the chicken, but I used the 10" Skillet because it was MUCH BIGGER.

I drew Mona's name in the Secret Santa drawing for work and Mona drew my name. I got her a snowglobe with an angel inside, a Hold 'n' Slice, and gave her some homemade crafts. A trivet I wove out of Christmassy yarn, a cup towel with a seasonal greeting embroidered on it, and some plastic canvas coasters made with christmassy yarn as well.

She got me a little bit of everything too. A Tinkerbell calendar, a big jar candle that goes through three scent changes (gingerbread, nutmeg, and vanilla), a shotglass (collect them), a crossword puzzle book, and a windup alarm clock she had her niece decorate with butterflies. Everything was really nice.

I got my christmas tree up, I spent the night with my grandparents in Garland for Christmas since I won't be able to be with the whole family one Christmas Eve, I went shopping with my best friend Kacie, and I talked to the peanut in her belly (yes, I mean itty-bitty baby)!!

Shopping...

I am going to finish up my Christmas shopping with my bestest friend in the entire world today. Her name is Kacie, and I usually refer to her in familial conversation as my Sistah (from another Mistah). We haven't seen each other in a while, with work and all. She is pregnant and I can't wait to talk to her belly and make her uncomfortable in public. She loves me so I know I can get away with it!

I plan on going to Target, Macy's, Bath and Body Works, Lane Bryant, Torrid (big clearance sale), Garden Ridge, and Best Buy (gotta drop off the laptop... some ting wong wit it! (Sorry 'bout the baby voice.)

Can't wait to see where Kacie wants to go... I think she already has most of her shopping done. We HAVE to go to a maternity store, just so I can see what goes on in there, LOL!

Friday I am going to Garland to visit my grandparents for Christmas (seeing as how I will be on call the real Christmas.. Grrrr!!) We'll go out to eat and I will be spending the night, they love when I spend the night because I don't see them as often as my other grandparents that live, at the most, 2 miles from my house.

Saturday, I'm going shopping with my BEST FRIEND Kacie at the mall in Mesquite. I haven't seen her since she found out she was pregnant. Aunt Heather can't wait to talk to the "peanut" in her belly! I really need to save some money so I can spoil the kiddo, like a good "aunt" always does!

I'm hungry... me thinks I will put on more clothes and venture out into the town in search of sustenance.

Hangover...

I did not get a punch hangover. See, it wasn't spiked!!

I clocked in today to pull some cases that didn't get pulled Friday afternoon, and while I was working, they called me in to really work! Not a big case.

Ann brought more presents up to the hospital for me to wrap. I told you I love wrapping gifts!!

Mom posted the next crop date as: Jan 17th 2009. I'm sure we will be having cake and BunnyTracks ice cream to celebrate my birthday from earlier in the week! I'm not sure if the crop is in Eustace or at her home in Mabank.

Work Party

I just left the hospital's Christmas party, thrown by the Auxillary. We call them "Pink Ladies" and "Pink Men" because they wear these salmon colored vests.

It was from 5pm to 8 pm and I got there at almost 5:30. I walked around, got some food, found a table, and had just sat down to eat when they drew my name. I was so excited! I got to go to the Christmas tree and pick out a present. I picked a smaller bag because you know big things come in small packages and sure enough, it was a Wal-Mart GiftCard. I don't know how much it is worth, but I'm sure it will fill up my gas tank or buy a few groceries.

I had a WONDERFUL TIME!! There was a Jazz Ensemble and I actually knew people in it. One man was an old band director from my middle and high school years and his wife was also in the band. The county judge was the drummer, and a member of the police force was also in the band.

I am still wearing the ribbon from my giftwrapping and someone else's bow from their present that I helped them pick out!! People were sure to have thought I spiked my punch, but that is not true. I was just having a REALLY GOOD time!

I'm even getting a recipe from the president of the auxillary, or the most precious "Pink Lady"! :) She made delightful cookies in the shape of a Christmas tree and they were frosted with green frosting.

I got my picture taken a couple of times. Once infront of the tree and once with a "Pink Doctor" (a doctor that is involved with the auxillary). He was so sweet, dancing with all the ladies that would have him. We even spun around a couple of times. I prayed he wouldn't fall. Then I would have to help mend a broken hip! :)

I know!! WOW!! Another post from Heather! I can't believe it either. :)

I am actually just waiting for Adobe to download or upload or whatever on my grandpa's computer so I can read something from the Pampered Chef. I'm putting in a show and I want to get it done.

I'm also over at my grandparents so I can wrap their Christmas gifts for them. I love gift wrapping... BEEP**39 SECONDS REMAINING TIL UPLOAD COMPLETE!!!**BEEP

Ok, so...

I didn't post on Dec 2nd but maybe I'll post more than one entry one day soon. I'm on call this weekend so... that will probably be when I do it.

We had a Pampered Chef Meeting last night in Flint, TX. It was a great get-together. We exchanged ornaments. I got a VERY glittery Santa Claus. We all chipped in and got our Directors a really nice Pampered Chef watch. We had a tasty Taco Ring and I brought Wal-Mart Fudge covered Graham Crakers.... LOL. I was on call the night before so, it was either that... or nothing!

I'm waiting for my doctor to arrive so I can start working. I secretly hope he never arrives! Or just his patients!

I'm thirsty, so I think I will try to scrounge up a bottle of water.

Nearly one new Post for every day in November... Let's see if I can really do it for December. I know I won't be able to post a new postcard everyday... oh how I wish I could. But they just don't come THAT often!!!

I have sent to Austria, Germany, Finland, USA, Austrailia, Japan, China, and the Netherlands.

I have recieved from Belgium, USA, Canada, Finland, the Netherlands, UK, Germany, Greece*, Japan, Norway, and Malaysia. * Greece - I haven't recieved yet but they sent me the Postcard ID to register it after 35 days or so. Said they would send me another one!
